Revis Island is open for business again -- just in time for the New York Jets to start their Super Bowl run. All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis and the Jets agreed in principle to a four-year contract Sunday night, reaching a deal a week before the team's season opener. "It not has only been hard on u guys, but it has for me too," Revis wrote on his Twitter page early Monday morning.

Querrey trying to put 'US' back in Open (AP)
Venus Williams says 30 is the new 20. Sam Querrey likes to think 20 could be No. 1. Thirty-year-old Williams is talking about age, and No. 20 Querrey is talking about seeding, but both are talking about the same thing when it comes to the U.S. Open. They'd like to be the ones to put America back on top at its own national championship.

A season that is slipping away for the St. Louis Cardinals has turned personal, with star slugger Albert Pujols criticizing young outfielder Colby Rasmus. The 24-year-old center fielder is denying reports, however, that he asked in July to be traded.

The Giants admit they're watching the scoreboard, even though they're in control of their own fate. White Sox score 4 in 9th to sweep BoSox (AP)
If the Chicago White Sox end up winning the AL Central, Sunday's victory may be a game that's talked about as the key to their late-season run. Gordon Beckham's bases-loaded walk with two outs pushed Chicago ahead in a four-run ninth inning that lifted the White Sox to their sixth straight win and an improbable 7-5 comeback victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday.

A-Rod returns but Yankees' run ends at 8 (AP)
Joe Girardi would still rather have Alex Rodriguez in his starting lineup. The Yankees had been riding a season-high eight-game winning streak while their star third baseman was on the disabled list with a nagging calf injury. They'd won 11 of their last 14 and pulled ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays by 2 1/2 games in the brutal AL East.

Meyer: Gators have 'long way to go' (AP)
Florida coach Urban Meyer expected some growing pains. After all, the fourth-ranked Gators entered the post-Tim Tebow era with four new assistant coaches, a new quarterback, a patchwork offensive line, inexperienced receivers and a revamped defense. But Meyer certainly didn't envision what happened Saturday against five-touchdown underdog Miami (Ohio).

Rangers to skip injured Lee's next start (AP)
The Texas Rangers will take a cautious approach with pitcher Cliff Lee and he will not make his scheduled start Tuesday at Toronto because of a sore back. Lee, who the Rangers acquired earlier this season from Seattle, threw a bullpen session on Sunday and his back loosened up. Lee only threw in the outfield on Saturday and reported some continued discomfort in the area of his back where he...
